IUGG XXIII General Assembly
State of the Planet: Frontiers and Challenges

Sapporo, Japan
30 June - 11 July 2003

The Local Organizing Committee in Sopporo welcomes the world geodetic and geophysical community to Sapporo, Japan for the 2003 IUGG meeting. Between June 30 and July 11, 2003, the Science Council of Japan and sixteen Japanese scientific societies hosted IUGG2003, the XXIII General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics. Japan is a country that mixes new trends and old traditions. The program was an exciting scientific program that highlighted the latest developments in our fast-breaking sciences, as well as reviewing progress in the traditional fields. Participants also enjoyed the cultural and physical beauty of Japan.
